Once again we’ve enjoyed a good demand for bulls from the herd to go and work in pedigree and commercial herds, with six bulls sold this month to herds across Northern Ireland.

First to go was Ampertaine Hercules, a January 2012-born Ampertaine Elgin son out of Kype Sharon, a Cloughhead Lord daughter. He sold to Ian McIlveen for his Carncombe herd at Kells, Ballymena.

Commercial buyers then took a further five bulls, with Ampertaine Godric, a Haltcliffe Vermount son, selling to Neil McTamney, Co Londonderry.

Ampertaine Harrison, a son of the legendary sire Sympa then sold to Co Antrim-based Pat McAtasney, while Ampertaine Hawii a Wilodge Cerberus son sold to fellow Co Antrim commercial breeder James Anderson. The last of the bulls sold this month was Ampertaine Hank. He is sired by Cloughhead Umpire and also heads to Co Antrim with Renwick Gibson.
