October 2011-born Gigolo is sired by the homebred 20,000gns bull Ampertaine Commander and is out of Ampertaine Crystal, herself a daughter of the noted Ronick Gains and a maternal sister to 24,000gns Ampertaine Bravo.

Ampertaine Gigolo

Ampertaine Gigolo

Gigolo had been a stand-out bull from early on and had been ear-marked as a potential entry for the main Limousin sale at Carlisle in May. He’s one of the better bulls we’ve bred in recent years and always had the potential to make a pedigree stock bull. He carries many of the attributes of his father and has a beef value of +44, putting him in the top 1% of the breed.

He is also within the top 1% of the breed for both muscle depth and 400-day growth, so combines a strong pedigree with both performance and visual appeal.

Gigolo will now enter stud for semen collection with semen to be marketed jointly by the McKay family and Cowporation and the intention being for semen to be available worldwide as soon as possible.

Speaking on behalf of Cowporation Teus Dekker said he had seen Gigolo on a recent trip to Northern Ireland and had been impressed with him from the minute he saw him. “He’s an excellent example of the Limousin breed and combines muscle, power and excellent locomotion. He will be a great fit with many of our cows in Holland.

“Ampertaine Gigolo has everything you would want in a Limousin bull. An enormous width right from the back through to his front, power and strength with exceptional breed character and style,” he added.
